Pastors Ron and Hope Carpenter
Ron and Hope Carpenter are the visionary founders and Senior Pastors of Redemption Church—a vibrant, multicultural ministry that began with just three members in Greenville, South Carolina in 1991. Together, they have spent over three decades building a ministry that reaches across racial, cultural, and socioeconomic lines with a heart for transforming lives and communities through the power of the gospel.
In 2018, after 30 years of dynamic ministry on the East Coast, Ron and Hope expanded Redemption’s reach by relocating to San Jose, California to bring the gospel to the most unchurched zip code in the United States. There, they were entrusted with Jubilee Christian Center— marking a new chapter in Redemption’s global story. Under their leadership, the church continues to expand its impact, including the relaunch of its East Coast campus in Greenville in 2020.
They are also parents to three children and proud grandparents to five grandchildren. Their legacy is not just in what they’ve built, but in the countless lives they’ve changed—and continue to change—through their obedience to the call of God.
As a leadership couple, Ron and Hope are deeply committed to empowering others to walk in their God-given purpose. Whether through preaching, mentorship, writing, or outreach, their united vision is to restore the broken, reach the lost, and advance the Kingdom of God through innovative media, cross-cultural ministry, and boots-on-the-ground missions work.
Ron Carpenter serves as the Senior Pastor, President, and CEO of Redemption and is widely recognized as a leader of leaders. For over 20 years, he has advised CEOs, pastors, and political figures around the world. His unique teaching style and entrepreneurial insight have made him a sought-after voice in both ministry and business.
Ron’s passion is to break down barriers of race, religion, and poverty by empowering people with Kingdom principles that bring real transformation.
Hope Carpenter serves as the Senior Pastor, Vice President, and COO of Redemption and brings her own powerful voice to the Redemption family. With degrees in Vocal Performance and Early Childhood Education, Hope is also a dynamic author and international speaker.
Her ministry, Hope for the Nations, has taken her to places like Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Mexico, where she passionately ministers to those in need. Hope’s heart beats for helping people discover their identity in Christ and live fully in their calling.
