Facilities Department Tech | San Jose

Position:  Facilities Tech

Reports To:  Facilities Department Head

Classification:  Full-time, Hourly – non-exempt

Hours:  Normal Office Hours – Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Objective:  Assist the Facilities Department with taking care of all aspects of the Church facilities.

Responsibilities:
1.     Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the REDEMPTION employee handbook;

2.     Take shared responsibility for accomplishing the vision of REDEMPTION and the Facilities Department

3.     Strive to display professionalism and moral conduct becoming of a church environment.

4.     Use detailed and professional communication in all areas

5.     Attend all mandatory Staff events and meetings required by leadership of Redemption.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE

6.     Handle the maintenance of heating and cooling equipment, plumbing facilities, etc. according to a regular schedule as agreed to by the Executive Pastor.

7.     Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly to do list.

8.     Perform minor fixes such as small dry wall repairs, etc.

9.     Make minor mechanical, plumbing, furniture and other facilities repairs & requests, based upon compentency and need.

10.  Inspect and trouble shoot equipment systems (i.e. ventilation)

11.  Maintain the aesthetic appeal of the church by replacing light bulbs, removing trash/clutter, painting as needed, replace door locks, and removing anything unsanitary and unsightly.

MINISTRY/EVENT SUPPORT

12.  Set-up/breakdown chairs for special room-configurations requested by ministries and indicated on the weekly schedule provided by Executive Pastor Admin

13.  Prepare sanctuary and baptistry for scheduled Baptism

14.  Help in set-up for major, church-wide events

15.  Assist with set-up for meeting and Bible Studies as requested

16.  Ensure church is prepared for worship (chairs, room temperature, signage as needed, etc.)

17.  As needed, be on site to assists with facility needs for special events (wedding, rentals, etc.)

18.  Ensure building is prepared for funerals, repasts and burials

GROUNDS KEEPING

19.  Ensure grounds are clear of droppings, debris and trash

20.  In the event of or ice, oversee salting parking-lot and side walk.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

21.  Ability to complete basic furniture assembly is helpful

22.  Proficiency with email, verbal and written communication

23.  Ability to lift at least 50lbs

  17. Have a joyful demeanor and attitude with Staff, children and families.
  18. Follow health and safety protocol, complete Incident/Accident Report and submit to proper authorities in accordance with Redemption policy 
  19. Help on Sundays in Children’s Ministry as needed.
