Outreach Coordinator | San Jose

Position: Outreach Coordinator (San Jose, CA)

This position may require work during the early morning hours to support the operational needs of the food outreach department.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to alleviate hunger in the community by actively participating in various responsibilities such as pick-up routes, food deliveries, stocking, cleaning, organizing, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing scheduled pick-up routes to collect food donations from partnering organizations,
  • businesses, and individuals.
  • Safely and efficiently transport collected food to the pantry facility.
  • Coordinate and conduct food deliveries to outreach locations and community partners as needed.
  • Assist in the proper sorting, categorizing, and stocking of incoming food items.
  • Maintain organized storage areas, ensuring that all items are easily accessible.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or specific needs to the Outreach Department Lead.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize food storage areas, shelving, and workspaces.
  • Ensure that the pantry facility always meets hygiene and safety standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, record-keeping, and document filing.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of food donations, distributions, and inventory levels.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and community partners regarding schedules, needs, and

updates.

Work as part of a team with the other members of the Creative Department to generate the best possible content church-wide.

Offer support and solutions for modifying/enhancing the Redemption image and branding techniques.

Participate in regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested.

Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of Redemption.

Requirements:

Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, (Dreamweaver & Flash a plus).

Strong understanding of production design principles.

Children's Ministry Department Lead | San Jose

Objective:
Effectively manage time, resources, and personnel necessary to develop age-appropriate curriculum for 1st-5th grade elementary age children in the Redemption Kids Live experience and the iKidsonline experience.

Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the REDEMPTION employee handbook;
2. Take shared responsibility for accomplishing the vision of REDEMPTION and the REDEMPTION KIDS Department
3. Strive to display professionalism and moral conduct becoming of a church environment.
4. Lead a team of staff and volunteers to develop curriculum that is age appropriate, relatable and impactful for elementary age children in 1st-5th grade to be used in person during the Redemption Kids Live experience as well as in the iKids online experience that is in line with the Redemption Church Missionand Redemption Kids Vision, and versatile enough to be used at all Redemption Campuses.
5. Lead and oversee the Influencer Program, where 3rd-5th graders and Youth will participate in the Sunday experience. You will be responsible for overseeing communication with families as well as training and coaching children.
6. Lead and oversee the Redemption Kids Sunday experience by working closely with the Children’s Department Head to create and establish what this program will look like and obtain instruction for how to effectively execute each aspect.
7. Overseeing and coaching the staff and volunteers who commit to being part of Redemption Kids Elementary as well as working with the appropriate cross functional teams to create the experience.
8. Plan and teach age-appropriate lessons based off the approved curriculum.
9. Assist Children’s Department Head in developing, planning and organizing Redemption Kids events outside of Sundays.
10. Oversee managing volunteer schedules and recruiting and onboarding of new volunteers.

23. Be willing to communicate with Leads if a volunteer requests to serve in a new age group and oversee this transition to ensure the volunteer has a full understanding of the process and what opportunities are available to them.
